Municipal Court
The Wisconsin Dells Municipal Court has jurisdiction over traffic and non-traffic ordinance violations in the City of Wisconsin Dells. If you desire an attorney, you may retain one at your own expense at any time during the proceedings. An attorney can explain your rights and assist you. This court will not provide you with an attorney.
You are required to do one of the following, or you will be found Guilty by a Default Judgment:
Contact or appear in Court ON OR BEFORE Initial Appearance date,
Pay citation at the Wisconsin Dells Police Department or Wisconsin Dells Municipal Court ON OR BEFORE Initial Appearance date OR
Enter plea ON OR BEFORE Initial Appearance date.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE CITY ATTORNEY AT (608)524-8231 FOR YOUR SCHEDULED PRE-TRIAL CONFERENCE.
FAILURE TO PAY THE AMOUNT DUE WILL RESULT IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:
Certification to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue that you are indebted to the Wisconsin Dells Municipal Court for amounts past due.
Suspension of your driving privilege for up to 2 years.
Issuance of a warrant for your arrest.
Change of Address. Please note that the Defendant has the responsibility to inform the Court if he/she has an address change.
Traffic Offenses. If you are found Guilty of a traffic offense, certain Demerit Points can be assessed on your driving record or your driving privileges may be suspended by the State Department of Transportation. This Court has no control over those types of actions by the Department of Transportation.
Underage Alcohol. If you choose to plead Guilty or No Contest to a violation of “Underage Consumption/Possession of Alcohol”, besides the forfeiture due, you have the choice to have a license suspension or to participate in an alcohol program. The program is strictly voluntary, but if you wish to participate, you must contact the Court Clerk before or on your Initial Appearance Date for the information or an automatic suspension will be issued.
