If you are a city resident (or meet the residency requirement within 10 days of the election), are 18 years or older and you've decided to run for a position on the city council, you would need to complete the following forms NO EARLIER than December 1st and return them to the City Clerk NO LATER than 5:00p.m. on the first Tuesday in January. The number of signatures required on the nomination papers for an alderperson position is between 20-40, whereas 50-100 are needed to run for the mayor's position.
Make sure the nomination signatures that you obtain are from people that reside in the City of Wisconsin Dells limits. Just because they have a Wisconsin Dells mailing address does not mean they live in the city limits. If you are seeking an alderperson position, signatures can only be obtained from people living in your alder-district. Non-qualified signatures will not be counted toward your required number of signatures.
